Creating your own School Edit website couldn’t be easier.
Making sure that you have covered all the requirements of all the stakeholders; Teachers, Governors, PTFA, Pupils, Parents/Guardians and Prospective Parents & Pupils is no easy task. School Edit have drawn up a list of Home Page items that you may wish to consider when planning your school website.
On your home page you can have various designs and applications. Menu Options are usually placed underneath your school banner at the top of the screen with drop down menus. We have put together some Ideas for your Home Page that may be useful when choosing how to organise your website information. We appreciate that each school has different requirements and this is only a suggestion of items to get you started.
Here you could have a warm welcome from the Head Teacher or Principal, you may want to include the school moto if you have one, and also an image or video of the school.
School news could include your weekly school news letter, latest announcements - such as school closed due to bad weather, or simply titles leading to articles on the website, keeping your pupils, parents/guardians and local community involved and informed of the latest news and updates to your website.
Up to the minute announcements and broadcasting. Twitter allows you the facility to broadcast school merits achieved by pupils, welcome new pupils and teachers, promote school clubs and any availability for events, increase attendance of school events you may be holding, fetes, art shows, opendays or keep your followers updated on any fundraising events and progress.
